Another day, another web announcement by a presidential candidate. Today, of course, it was the turn of Delaware Democrat Sen. Joe Biden.

Just like Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.,) Biden went with the announcement-casual look--tieless and open-collared. It's supposed to give politicians a web-savvy, Silicon Valley appeal.

"In my view, President Bush has dug America into a very deep hole," Biden said in the video. "This administration's mishandling of the war in Iraq may be the greatest foreign policy disaster of all time."

Biden also said this:

"To restore America's place in the world, we also must focus on the hopes and needs of our own people. The Bush administration – because it worships profits over people – has forgotten that to make America strong, we need a growing, vibrant middle-class.

"We need our citizens to feel secure. Secure that their children will be cared for if they are ill. Secure that they will have a retirement income they can count on. Secure that we are doing all we can to end global warming. Secure that their jobs and opportunities will not vanish like so many have in recent years."

This is Biden's second grab at the big presidential prize. Biden, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and first elected to the Senate in 1972, ran for the Democratic nomination in 1988 but was forced out of the race after it became known that he plagiarized the speech of a British politician.

That was not Biden's greatest adversity however. His first wife and baby daughter were killed in an car accident. He has also suffered brain aneurysms that were successfully operated on.

In a Senate filled with politicians who love the sound of their own voices, as jazz musicians might say, Biden can really blow; he is one of that body's most prolific talkers.

A lot of his talking lately has been about the Iraq War. Biden has offered a plan that would decentralize Iraq by giving the Shiites, Sunnis and Kurds their own regions of influence.

It would require a distribution of Iraqi oil revenues and a redeployment of U.S. troops.

Biden has also introduced a non-binding resolution that condemns the surge of U.S. troops in Iraq as not in the national interest. Because it's seen as more critical of the Bush administration than some competing resolutions, it's unclear if his resolution will get enough Republican votes to pass.

Joe's never been the same since receiving those hair plugs. YIKES! I do wonder if he agrees with Prez McOil on the issue below?

NEW YORK (AP) -- President Bush took aim Wednesday at huge salaries and bonuses for corporate executives, going to Wall Street to say compensation packages should hinge on how good a job a CEO does for the shareholders.

If the Pres salary hinged on the job he was doing, how much should he be paid?

Joe has to many ties to the big companies. He is a good Senator but that all.

Joe Biden has forgotten more about foreign policy and the world than more people will ever know. He'd be a perfect VP for some inexperienced senator from Illinois or New York.

Joe Biden said in an interview;
"Barack Obama is a "clean" African American"
Hmmmm?
Paulo

I've always liked Senator Biden especially the stand he's taken against the GOP's Iraq war and their love affair with the big oil companies.

Unfortunatly for him the Democrats have a stellar group of young well liked candidates this time around.

See this link, complete with video, for Biden's racist comments today on Barack Obama: http://www.drudgereport.com/

Biden just never struck me as that bright. What he gets from his aerie on the Senate Com. on Foreign Relations he seems to get by osmosis.

Let me put it this way. He's been commuting from Wilmington, DE about 1 1/2 hr by train to DC. He became an advocate for Amtrak. Have you ridden a train lately?

Strictly B list.

Brucie,
As usual you aren't telling the whole truth, nothing but the truth,so help me god.

I thought you didn't like future President Obama?

Yea, he quickly "cleaned" up his muddy, back-handed "compliment". But as much as admire and support BO, I'm sure even he'd be the first to admit that he's not the first mainstream--whatever that means--AA politician with those combination of electable qualities. Though, he may be the first with more than a gnat's a** chance of winning. Nah, on second thought, I belive that distinction belongs to Colin...

I'm sure BO wasted no precious time mulling on this petty sound bite. However, JJ and AS might take umbrage with Joe's suggestion that they either lack articulation; lack good looks or lack cleanliness...Hmmmm--just a thought.

John E,
I know you have no capacity to reason with your 6 year old intellect level. Just because Brucie boy posted that link doesn't mean he likes Obama. He just wanted to point out part of the story that isn't on the Swamp. You infer a bit too much. Oh well, go back to calling names you "veteran" you.

JD

'He's on the road to nowhere,
Wastin' his time'

Why does it matter if Obama's good-looking or not?

Just for the record...the post above is a different JD. I would never address John E. directly. He doesn't merit that. Although I do agree with his first sentance.

Anyway....just thought I'd clear that up considering most of you are still holding on to the John D. JD theory.

Jeff,

I don't know why, but the crypto-fascists posting here keep laughing at his ears. You know who that is.

C.Morris, Baracks ears are much larger than Saddam "Husseins"
Paulo

Paulo you have nothing to talk about ears. Yours are huge oh you never forget

So he has big ears,so what Paulo.

Paulo,"Clean up on isle 7",grab your mop and broom.

And Paulo STILL REFUSES to tell us his middle name, after having been challenged to do so almost 2 months ago.
