CLINTON, Iowa -- Plenty has already been made of Sen. Barack Obama's decision to give a major anti-war speech here, in a city that has the same name as the front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination.
Campaign aides said it was strictly a coincidence. Still, Obama had some fun trying his hand with the headline writing that could be done from the Wednesday afternoon event.
"We do hope that the headline after we leave is Clinton endorses Obama," he said to laughter from his audience of about 500 in a university gym.
"Clinton gives Obama standing ovation," the Illinois Democrat tried on his second effort.

If Rudy Ghouliani was speaking here, rather than using humour, his opening line would be something like, "If Clinton votes for Clinton, you'll all be dead! As a matter a fact if you vote for the Democrats you'll all be dead and the terrorists will win. A vote for Democrats, is a vote for terrorists....9/11 (Big wide grin)"
