Fergus Cullen, chairman of the New Hampshire State Republican Committee, confirmed Sunday evening to the Tribune that, yes, there will be a televised Fox News presidential candidate forum on Jan. 6, and yes, Rep. Ron Paul was not invited when the other candidates were a week or so ago.
"My understanding is that five candidates to that point had been offered spots but the event is still coming together," Cullen said.
The candidates invited to the forum/debate – whatever you want to call it – will be Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Gov. Mike Huckabee, Sen. John McCain, Gov. Mitt Romney and Sen. Fred Thompson.
Cullen said the event, which is set to take place two days before the New Hampshire primary, will be held in the afternoon or evening at St. Anselm College in Goffstown, N.H. When asked if Fox News, which is co-sponsoring the debate with the NH party, planned to invite Paul later, Cullen said he didn't know.
"It's really premature. Just the other day candidates started to accept invitations."
On Saturday, Paul called Fox News "scared of me." They "don't want my message to get out, but it will," according to The Boston Globe's Primary Source blog.
"They are propagandists for this war and I challenge them on the notion that they are conservative."
On Sunday night, Paul spokesman Jesse Benton said the campaign remains angry, and in the dark.
"We have not heard anything else today," he said. "[Fox] continues to ignore our calls."

Let's just re-name it the "Pro-Iraq War Forum", leave Dr. Paul off the list of invited, and move on.

Jason and the Baltimore Sun,
Thank you for your continued work to expose the blatant hypocrisy and manipulation of the American election by FOX News. Now the question is will this make the front page of the actual paper or just be relegated to a blog? I would think if this happened to Hillary all of the papers and newscasts would have this running. I hope you will keep surprising me, since I have to tell you I have never been a fan of the Sun. P.S.
Sincerely,
A Ron Paul supporter in Harford County

Fox is doing a great DIS-Service to the American people by excluding Ron Paul. I don't think the Lame Stream Media understands exactly how much popularity Ron Paul really has, and how much his ideas are resonating with Americans. The American people aren't stupid, and we understand the dire situation our country is headed in. Especially the economic crisis we are going to suffer. The Dollar is declining in value week after week, U.S. imperialism goes unchecked at the expense of our Republic, and we middle class Americans are overtaxed, and over-regulated.
We The People are not going to let a Lame media stand in the way of progress and restoring The Constitution. Ron Paul is the only candidate offering REAL solutions to REAL problems. Ron Paul has my vote.

No worries from this Ron Paul supporter. All of these "debates" or forums or whatever you want to call them simply remind me how far the Republican Party has strayed from its roots. Dr. Paul's consistent record of honesty and integrity would only be insulted by this ridiculous exchange. For months, Dr. Paul and his supporters have been minimized and marginalized, but Fox News will look pretty silly when half the candidates in its forum of "leaders" turn out to have been beaten by Dr. Paul in Iowa. Go Ron Go!

Interesting how historically we revere figures who stand for freedom and liberty. Then when one comes along our society has a hard time recognizing him for what he is. This forum/debate is proof that we are not as free as we think we are. God bless Ron Paul.

I have emailed my disgust with this decision to Fox News. I will no longer be one of its viewers and I will not support its sponsors or advertisers. I would also encourage anyone who owns News Corp. stock (NWS) to sell it immediately and hit them where it hurts. As an American, I am ashamed of our media. How can someone who speaks the truth, has integrity and then raises 19 million dollars be excluded and shunned from a debate? Pathetic.
Posted by: Leo Capobianco | December 30, 2007 7:28 PM
All of this is to be expected. Anyone that is surprised does not understand what Ron Paul has been saying. If this is a surprise to anyone in the Paul campaign, then I would suggest they evaluate their strategy. This doesn't get easier, it gets tougher if Ron Paul gets more attention. The objective at the top of the list is to have Ron Paul get elected President. This is not simple and it is not easy and it's not going to get done by allowing the objective to be herded by the status quo. This is the real deal, serious, landing on the beach serious. It is doable though and as an old guy impressed with all that has been done. Understand what is at risk to the entrenched otherside though and all of what lies ahead should be expected and planned to be countered.

Fox News does not care what the American people want and think. They represent a version of fascism, a network trying to keep the American voice of liberty and freedom quieted. We will not stay quiet, they will not stop us. They can either join with the revolution or remain with their status quo. It will not hurt us, it will hurt their network. It is their decision to be defeated.
Posted by: Kathie | December 30, 2007 7:44 PM
All of this is going to bite the Republican Party int its butt come the general election. Do they not think Paul supporters are going to vote for whoever is nominated after Paul is given the shaft during the primaries? Paul's supporters are going to stay home or write in Paul's name and Hillary will end up winning. The GOP is a joke.

Fox News, the promoter of fighting for democracy abroad, decides to ignore Ron Paul and not invite him to a forum in a state in which he is beating Fred Thompson in the majority of the polls. Yet we see Fred Thompson get the invite and Ron Paul does not. What happened to Fox News' slogan "You Decide 2008". Obviously that is just a lie, like most of the "news" spat out from this "news network". What a joke and a disgrace.

if not for the internet we wouldn't know half of what we need to know concerning our country and it's future. the media's lack of integrity is nothing new and there really isn't any good reason to watch the news or read the main stream media when we are looking for an honest assessment of issues concerning our government. since the media is owned by big business, they don't want ron paul as they wouldn't be able continue their abuse and corruption under his watch. ron paul is the only one i would trust. he is so 'REAL'. an honest president, what a concept...

Floyd, not bad, you got 1 out of 2 right. You've been duped by misinformation if you think Ron Paul is a racist. When asked about the money donated from a known white supremist, he said he would put the money to good use rather than give it back, and added that their ideologies were immoral.
I'm not surprised by this move by Fox, they are afraid because Ron Paul is unflappable to their attacks and they know he would come out the winner again. They are still weighing this move out though because they are not sure if it will hurt or help.

Well, what do you expect from the news station that hosted a debate in which two of the questions, posed by the commentators, were: 'Congressman, you are the only person on this stage who opposes the war...are you running for the nomination of the right party?'.....and my favorite.....'Dr. Paul, who do you take your marching orders from? Al Qaeda?'....what class acts, huh? I am of the opinion that the more his message is censored by the mainstream press, the more interested people will be in him, anyway. I've never seen a more humble, honorable man as a public official. He rocks.
P.S. His answer to the Al Qaeda question was 'No, I take my orders from the Constitution'....spoken like a true gentleman!

Progressive Portal - distorter of the truth. 1. You took Ron's evolution comment out of context. He was clear he'd never let these views influence policy. PLUS, who cares? Only Ron would end the war and the US empire that is bankrupting America. 2. Funds from "white supremacists? Ron didn't solicit funds from this ONE guy. I'm a lot more concerned about the millions given as donations (bribes) to ALL Rons's opponants from the military-industrial complex thats making billions off taxpayer funded government conntracts which enable the empire to keep leading us to doom. 3. Ron "doesn't believe in seperation of church and state". That's just complete crap. He believes in freedom of religion, not government endorsement of any given religion. Any more RP distortions you want to slur him with?

I read something on Townhall.com about a week ago that Jonah Goldberg, Michael Medved and Kevin McCullough were trying to come up with any ideas about why they could exclude Dr Ron Paul from the Republican Presidential Debates...no doubt this is kinda like a similar thing that happened to Ronald Reagan when they tried to take his microphone away from him. Reagan quipped: "Mr Green, I am paying for this microphone." However, in this case they will not even let Ron Paul have a microphone.

From England, you gave this man American citizenship.
Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation owns Fox Television Network, Fox News, the FX Channel, 20th Century Fox Films, Fox 2000, and publisher Harper Collins. News Corp. is the fifth largest megamedia corporation in the nation, with 2003 revenues of approximately $19.2 billion. It is the only other media company which comes close to the top four.
Its Fox News Channel has been a key outlet pushing the Jewish neoconservative agenda that lies behind the Iraq War and which animates both the administration of George W. Bush and the "new conservatism" that embraces aggressive Zionism and multiracialism.
Murdoch is nominally a Gentile, but there is some uncertainty about his ancestry and he has vigorously supported Zionism and other Jewish causes throughout his life. (Historian David Irving has published information from a claimed high-level media source who says that Murdoch's mother, Elisabeth Joy Greene, was Jewish, but we have not been able to confirm this.) Murdoch's number two executive is Peter Chernin, who is president and chief operating officer—and a Jew.
Under Chernin, Jews hold key positions in the company: Gail Berman runs Fox Entertainment Group; Mitchell Stern heads satellite television division DirecTV; Jane Friedman is chairman and CEO of Harper Collins; and Thomas Rothman is chairman of Fox Filmed Entertainment. News Corporation also owns the New York Post and TV Guide, and both are published under Chernin's supervision. The primary printed neoconservative journal, The Weekly Standard, is also published by News Corporation and edited by William Kristol, a leading Jewish neocon spokesman and "intellectual."
Now you know why fox won't let Ron Paul appear.

Without equal representation of all qualified candidates, this forum is just another political ad.
Fox has yet to formally rationalize their qualification process except in reference to corporate polls bought by the various parties and media organizations. If they did, the RON PAUL R3VOLUTION would blast those metrics out of the water as well.

I have emailed 10 of the companies listed and 12 people at Fox "News". I have been very polite and gracious. I am interested to see if Fox reports on the number of emails they get. I am very willing to boycott Fox's sponsors and have communicated this to them. Many of these company's sites are not easy to navigate and send an email to an "appropriate" person. That the MSM is no longer free, honest or independent is a damn shame but not a surprise. Just let the MSM keep proving they are the slaves of big business and we will just turn to the internet for our news. Their loss, their stupidity. For Fox to exclude Dr. Paul is actually kind of funny. They will sure look stupid if Paul does well in IOWA. I hope they wait til he pulls 3rd or better in IOWA and then they will have to ask him to join, but by then it will be obvious even to the masses that they acted out of bias and revenge because Paul has challenged them and their reporting. Fox has been incredibly successful in fooling people into believing they are a news station. They are at best an op/ed outlet for Rupert and his buddies. This reminds me of the time they kept Ralph N not only out of the debate, but illegally kicked him off the grounds. Part of the Ron Paul revolution is about taking our rights back from the powers that we have allowed to become so corrupt. We should not expect this to be easy or to happen very quickly. What I hope we have started is the beginning of a movement of higher awareness of our leaders motives. Ron Paul will make us free, safe and far richer than any other candidate. He has my support and I will just give more and work harder to overcome the roadblocks.

After the last money bomb, the media gave Ron Paul about 1 week of attention. I guess they wanted some of that money and perhaps, as seen by some of the very tough and aggressive interviews such as 'Meet the Press', they wanted to trip him up. However, Ron Paul proved unbeatable in the interviews and debates so now they have instigated a media blackout. It's time for the people to stand up to this. Let their ratings drop, let their share prices fall. Ignore the Media that ignores Ron Paul.

I hope that NH voters realize what is going on. Ron Paul is for the people. Every true patriot has been pushed to the side. Ron Paul wants to restore the Government to the Constitutional size and what does he get, booted from a debate.
I hope and pray that NH voters send a message to the establishment, please vote for Ron Paul, he will make you very proud!
If you need for more info on Ron Paul, just google "Ron Paul"
God Bless!

The media should be ashamed of themselves for failing to cover a candidate with such a vocal and loyal following...

Regrettably, I'm not surprised. I am a Ron Paul supporter...I am a physician concerned about our nation's economy, foreign policy and healthcare system. I happened upon this story...if Ron Paul does not appear on this debate I will max-out my personal donation and I will never tune in to Fox again...PERIOD

The jig is up FOX News--it's becoming more and more difficult to conceal the fraud! With your exclusion of Ron Paul from your 1/6/08 Republican forum, you have made it painfully clear that your true aim in "fair and honest" news reporting is nothing short of an attempt at strong-arming public opinion towards your establishment-puppet candidates. The moneyed vultures that control your station (this nation, & this planet) seek only for the continued subjugation of our citizenry, the perpetual subversion of truth and liberty, and the swindling of the wealth and freedoms of American poor and middle-classes. Perhaps we Paulities are overreacting? Or maybe, just maybe, we are the few aware of the unabated progression towards American totalitarianism--a movement whose orchestration your organization is complicit in. Get a conscience--get a soul--get a life & then get a new populace to force-feed your pablum to.

I've not voted in 24 years. I've registered Republican so I can vote for Ron Paul.
Posted by: Homer T. | December 30, 2007 10:59 PM
No No No! This is a GOOD thing for Ron Paul; Americans don't like it when they are being prevented from seeing someone. What if they disinvited Thompson? We would be equally outraged, even if we didn't like Thompson.

This is great news. Fox has now lost every shred of credibility that they might have had as a news organization. Even if they now invite Ron Paul to the debate, they will have done so only to appease public outcry -- and to protect their stock value and prevent their advertisers from fleeing.
What's more, it can only help Ron Paul. The firestorm they've created will only give Ron Paul more publicity, people who aren't familiar with him will be curious to find out more -- and once they do, they'll see that he's a reasonable and sober person. This will not only gain Ron many more mainstream supporters, but galvanaize and energize those supporters he now has. The people of New Hampshire should be outraged that Fox News thinks they're too stupid to make up their own minds.
For a great satire on the president, the mainstream media, and the war on terror, see this YouTube music video from the international award-winning zombie musical feature film, "Song of the Dead." It' stars horror movie veteran Reggie Bannister (Phantasm, Wishmaster, Bubba Ho-tep) as the president of the U.S. The filmmaker, Chip Gubera, is giving a share of his profits from DVD sales to the Ron Paul campaign. Why are Murdoch Republicans so afraid of Ron Paul?
Posted by: Doug Zook | December 30, 2007 11:08 PM
FOX News=Fascism
I think that the other five loser candidates did not want Ron Paul in the debate because each one of them fears losing the NH Primary to Paul despite the fact that Paul is given no free media coverage.

It's about the war and economy stupid. On the War front, how's it getting better when 899 of our soldiers have died this year, the highest yet. Also, 18,610 Iraquis have died this year, so far. How's it getting better when our dollar is at an all time low value, bankruptcy's and foreclosure's up too, while oil prices are at an all time high price on the world market. yeah it's getting better so vote for the douche bags like Hucklebee and Guiliani who will keep us heading in the same direction - on a highway to hell...viva la Ron Paul rEVOLution. Ron Paul cured my apathy.

(Before I say anything else I would like to warn readers that many government operatives have been exposed writing comments on new stories acting as white supremacists and defending Ron Paul. Do not be fooled, it has been proved that those in power (CIA, NSA) have literally hired hundreds of Public Relations experts to act as racists and write reports, blogs, forum posts, and comments in order to make is seam as though Ron Paul supporters and other activists are somehow connected to racism. Don't believe me, investigate it yourself. Groups like the anti-defamation league have been caught threatening Jews, painting swastikas on buildings, and even destroying Jewish landmarks in order to forward there own agendas. Unfortunately the good Jewish people have been taken for a ride by many of their own leaders.)
A few years ago Rupert Murdoch admitted at the world economic forum that Fox News was a propaganda arm for the globalist/pro-war agenda.
When asked, "Did you [fox news] help shape the agenda for the war in Iraq?" (Help convince the American people through biased reporting) Murdock responded with a laugh, "We tried...we basically supported the Bush policy in the Middle East."
Don't be fooled, Fox is neither Left, nor Right. Fox, along with the rest of the big media cartels, is a globalist propaganda machine. They would support leftists like Zbigniew Brzezinski (A pro-war leftist who helped Mao kill 2 million) just ask quickly as men like Dick Cheney. They support anyone who will make money for Media, War Profiteers, Bankers, and Big Government.
Wake up America!!! 120 Vets commit suicide every week!! That's government numbers!!

I say:Good riddance. Why should Ron Paul do any shows that will only try to discredit and slant him?
Like Ron Paul said once:"It's their show, they can do whatever they want."
What's troubling is that America is being destroyed by an evil and ugly old man who wasn't even born here and people let him go about his business. Where's the justice?
Let's focus on watching the votes in IO and NH.

Youtube search 'outfoxed' to watch movie about FOX news.
FOX also owns myspace.
Silly people dont realize that the internet has changed elections permanently. Even if he doesnt win.. do you think this many energetic, patriotic Americans are going to go away?
I see pink slips for Congress in the near future.

Fox News..."fair and balanced"? lets try "fearful and biased" Ron Paul represents everyone who has ever hoped the political media machines of America would eventually be derailed by a candidate of substance who is not afraid to take on the establishment. DEATH to the STATUS QUO! GO RON PAUL!!!!!!!!

From a "twice" Bush voter, I have seen the light. these neo-cons have the GOP snowed. I'm 110% for Dr. Paul.

I am curious about one thing. Will there be enough selling of enough stock to even make a dent in the stock of Fox?
Just wondering.
Posted by: BR549 | December 30, 2007 11:39 PM
Who in the world cares? FOX is dead and I haven't watched it for months. Let them keep Dr Paul out of there so-called forum. ABC is having a Republican debate the day before and Dr Paul has a full schedule on Jan 6th. FOX will keep shooting themselves in the foot and so be it. RP supporters will grow and grow because Freedom is popular and if FOX wants to supress Freedom, so BE IT!

Personally, I will not give another dime to any of Rupert Murdochs industries (that goes for the wall street journal. I will make sure that I also tell those who advertise with Fox that I will be more likely to not buy from them as they support Fox News.

FOX affiliates will lose their FCC license over this Ron Paul Black out. They will not have served the public interest to exclude any party candidates.
There will be 100,000 emails of "public record"
here's how
"FCC Public File"
"Not acting in the public interest"
1) At the beginning of EACH email or FAX to an affiliate (actual broadcaster, not the network) ask that the comment be placed in their "FCC Public File." They are required to comply with your request.
This "Public File" is reviewed by the FCC each time that station's license is up for renewal. Not getting a license renewed means the station is worthless.
Give your opinion that the broadcaster is "Not acting in the public interest" and give detailed reasoning.
We can specifically start slamming each affiliate under the FCC "Equal Time Rule."

2) Comment to the FCC directly on media ownership:

Fox News should have to register with the US government as an agent of a foreign power. It certainly isn't serving American interests.

If he really doesn't get invited, the media will surely cover the MONSTOROUS ron paul rally that I'm sure will ensue all day outside the St. Anselm College. Mark my words, Dr. Paul's message will be there, televised or not.
Posted by: jordan | December 30, 2007 11:55 PM
I will gladly boycott Fox News if Ron Paul remains un invited.

ALL PAUL SUPPORTERS PLEASE DONATE - NEW YEAR'S EVE MONEY BOMB!
Posted by: Brian | December 30, 2007 11:56 PM
Has anyone tried to find out why Ron Paul wasn't invited? Personally after hearing Ron Paul speak, I don't think he's very qualified. That said, obviously if this is a Republican forum the all Republican Candidates should be invited.
Another comment; the guy who said that our Democracy is an illusion needs to get a passport and travel the world, live in a few countries and then he/she will understand just how good we have it in the USA. I've done that for 25 years! Nothing is perfect, and we have to keep working at it but there is no doubt we are on top of the list as far as Freedom goes. Never doubt that!

Ron Paul 2008....
Ron paul is a true conservative, not a reublicrat commie like the other candidates ..By fox news leaving him off of the forum goes to show us that our elections are rigged and they dont want the truth to get out.RON PAUL GETS MY VOTE.
Posted by: William Drabkowski | December 31, 2007 12:04 AM
I will vote for Ron Paul, without being told by Big Media what to think about him and whether to ignore him. However, I do think it's sad that so many people will take their directions from Big Media and simply cast their votes on whoever is cast as the frontrunner according to the Big Media polls. That sort of behavior makes a mockery of the democratic process.
Posted by: Joe | December 31, 2007 12:04 AM
Just look at the ratio of positive to negative comments right here. It's beautiful! The two people who had negative comments didn't even express a reason for their vitriol, they just seem to hate for the sake of hating.
Dr. Paul is gonna win this election and save our country. He has the right ideas and he has the integrity to follow through with his promises. Name one other candidate that you could confidently say that about.
Go Ron Paul
