While everyone works at counting people in on the list of clients for Emperors Club VIP -- Client No. 9 reportedly Eliot Spitzer, governor of New York, Client No. 6 reportedly the Duke of Westminster -- our friends over at the Sun-Times have counted one out: Michael Jordan.
Columnist Michael Sneed: "Just who is Client No. 10?
"Who is the procurer of prostitutes from Chicago who is mentioned anonymously in an unsealed FBI affidavit filed by the feds detailing operations of the Emperors Club, a sex-for-hire shop that allegedly ensnared embattled New York. Gov. Eliot Spitzer?
"Answer: It's not basketball legend Michael Jordan, according to Jordan's attorney Frederick Sperling...In order to end rumors that unnamed Client No. 10, who requested an Emperors Club prostitute for March 4 in Chicago, may have been Jordan, Sperling tells Sneed: "I have just received confirmation from Assistant U.S. Attorney Rita Glavin in New York that our client Michael Jordan is neither a subject nor a target of this investigation."
Case closed.''

Nothing like being caught with your pants down. They should have remembered the story "The Emperor's New Clothes" before they made their phone calls.

Oh, for goodness sake. Who cares? Prostitution should be legal, rather a source of fodder for the press and public witch hunts.
If Spitzer or anyone else wants to frequent prostitutes, and he's not abusing the public trust or funds, I just don't care. His wife may care, but I don't.

Heck who are Clients 1-10, 20,etc? To have had a successful business, even at the prices charged by the young ladies, the company would have needed more than 10 clients! Or did the FBI stop with Client 9 as Wall Street had got what it wanted? A new governor who would be more complaisant to Wall Streets practices?

Good question! Why aren't these people named as well as Spitzer? Why are they being protected while Spitzer is being hung out to dry? It's beginning to look like this was a political hit job in retaliation for the D.C. Madame brouhaha that exposed republican hanky-panky.

I don't care who Client 10 is if he is not married. He can have consensual sex with whomever he wants. If he wants to pay the woman in cash or in trips around the world, it doesn't concern me either way.
If he is married, however, then he deserves to be outed for the scum that he is. My tax dollars don't pay for couples to have the advantages of marriage so that men can violate their vows with other women. "Sanctity of Marriage" indeed. The whole institution of marriage is becoming a joke.

Hey Mr. Silva -- not to be too critical, but having walked among the ink-stained wretches myself, I have to think there's something not quite right about having another reporter's product -- from a competing newspaper, I would add, beneath your byline. I know the blogging duties of "The Swamp" are weighty, but you can do better.

That was nice of Sneed to throw Michael's name out there. When was the last time you beat your wife?

What does it say about Michael Jordan's character that a report has to be made that he is NOT one of the Clients. Juanita, would you like to chime in on this one?

Yet another article in the Tribune conspiracy of omission that fails to identify Spitzer as a DEMOCRAT. This makes 12 articles in the Tribune to date that have omitted Spitzer's party affiliation. Sure wasn't the case when a Republican was in the dock.

I'm shocked, actually!

Who is Micheal Jordan and do we really care who pays $1,000.00 or $10,000.00 American dollars for sex?
I think not but your paper seems intent on focusing on non issues and sleaze when Washington is burning

Gordon:
When Spitzer was discovered to have done this, he did what a Democrat does - he resigned.
When David Vitter and Larry Craig had their problems, they did what all Republicans do - blame the media.

Wasn't Bill in town earlier this year fund raising for Hillary? Doesn't he live in New York? Spitzer is a Clinton support.
