Now that Barack Obama has distanced himself publicly, if painfully, from the pastor who married the senator and his wife and baptized their children, he is getting close to the wife in a national television appearance:
NBC's Meredith Vieira will sit down with Barack and Michelle Obama today in Indianapolis for an interview that will air on the Today show Thursday morning, the network says in its billing of a campaign "exclusive.'' A segment of the interview also will air on the NBC Nightly News and on MSNBC this evening.
Michelle Obama has been a tireless campaigner for her husband on the road. And now, as the Democratic candidate for president attempts to put the Rev. Jeremiah Wright in the campaign's rear view mirror, he is presenting a new image for public consumption: A professional and happily married couple willing to face the news together.
Imagine Hillary and Bill Clinton appearing together in a network news interview: The former president has a certain overpowering presence. But in the case of the Obamas, a spouse with a strong presence is a welcome thing: As the senator from Illinois strives to supplant the image of strife that his soured relationship with his longtime pastor has imposed on his campaign with an image of domestic harmony.

American needs OBAMA who represents integrity, honor, and a passion for every citizen in America. He has tolerated horrific attacks by the Clintons, has risen to the occasion, and responded like a true statesman. God bless OBAMA.

He lied. "I arrived under sniper fire... we had to do one of these corkscrew landing... we had to scrap the welcoming ceremony..." ALL LIES. Oh yeah and then there's always the... "I did not have sexual relations with that woman Ms Lewinsky" Did she distance herself from her husband. You can choose your husband... not only your pastor!
