Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton will make their first joint public campaign appearance since he clinched the Democratic presidential nomination in the aptly named Unity, N.H.

Unity

The Obama campaign announced moments ago ago that the two will travel to Unity, N.H., on Friday for a campaign event stressing (you guessed it) party unity.

Both candidates received exactly the same number of votes from the western New Hampshire town in January's New Hampshire primary: 107 votes each.

(The town's estimated population: 1,700.)

Obama and Clinton will appear together before a group of major Clinton fundraisers in Washington on Thursday evening. Their joint campaign appearance will come the next day.

Hillary will campaign for Obama through gritted teeth, and most Americans will see through it. There is a lot of bitterness there. If Obama's campaign were smart, they would have her make a few stops, then get out of the picture.

Once again the democrats emphaize symbolism over substance.
